my brother in law said to me one fine morning,'raimi, university is your homerun. you gotta give it your all. its coming to an end, this race you're running' and all i could offer him was a snort. which i had to pass off as a cough lah so as not to be rude. you see, the thinfgs with life is, its a constant battle. whatever he said bout it being my last race is an outrageous fallacy. imagine, sitting for O's for example. you sweat blood in order to qualify to poly/ jc and after that what? life ends there and you get transported lazing in some beach sipping a mocktail? NO. you struggle some more in order to ace your A levels and projects so as to gain a place in local or oversea universities. And there, its pure hard work to get your degree. You sweat blood again. After attaining your degree ( oh wait before this must take picture in graduation ceremony wearing the long robe and funky looking hat, which has a weird name that i cant recall at this moment) you get a decent job and realises that the ones getting promoted are those with Masters and PHD. So what do you have to do, reluctantly or enthusiastically-up to you- you then sign up for a 4 year masters. happy now? so yes. presenting this picture is not for you to realise the hardship you will have to go through. OH WAIT. it IS my motive to scare you lot on the hard work and discipline required to live in Singapore. HAHA. kidding. so i sat there thinking, after my brother in law gave me his very inspired speech, since life cant change and i CANT possibly change the way life revolves me, all that im capable of changing/improving is my attitude. :) so yes, the very essence of success lies in YOUR attitude. :D ta da! simple equation which does not equate to simple execution. how Unfortunate. le sigh. |
